“Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do. Play
consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.” -Mark Twain
Attitude is everything! When a boy gets his first car and little ones who want to help, it's a playful thing to wash the car, but when mom and dad say, "you need to wash the car", it's a painful chore.
“Do not keep children to their studies by compulsion but by
play.” -Plato
This child is entranced and focused in a way you wouldn't expect from a one year old. When we engage children in play that is open-ended and has a sense of wonder they will focus and concentrate and learn!
