On Monday When it Rained by Cherryl Kachenmeister
This is a great little book with awesome photographs of a young boy expressing his emotions by changing his facial expressions. It is a great discussion starter when teaching preschoolers how to express their own emotions and also how to detect another's emotions by reading facial expressions.

This book is one I use when training adults to remind them that even their most challenging children have hidden potential, it is just waiting to be tapped. It's also a good book to use with older preschoolers and K-1 kids to get them thinking about their own hidden potential and how they might be able to develop those strengths.
I just looked up your favorite book, On Monday when it Rained. It looks very interesting. I would go great when I work on identifying feeling with the children in the classroom. I don't always come across a lot of book that show boys working on their feeling. I may consider it for a book to add to the classroom this upcoming year.
ReplyDeleteYou've just named another good reason to use it. If you go to www.csefel.org and look under Book Nooks, there is a lesson plan on how you can use the book with preschoolers.
